How to clear my space

How to clear my space?

In a previous blog post I talked about what a House Healer is and how they work, but you might wonder if you yourself can do anything to clear your home of any unwanted energies?

The short answer is yes, of course. You can use different tools for different issues that might have arisen in the past. Let’s have a look at the different options you might want to use to clear your home and space.

Smudging or Incense

One of the classics, you can either use a smudge stick or burn incense. In shops, you can find different mixes or you create a mixture yourself.

The following herbs and leaves have proven to be very effective and you can plant the herbs in your own garden or gather some of them in the forest.

  • Birch

You can use the dried bark or leaves to burn as an incense for cleansing and purification.

It can also be used to invoke protection and banishment of the darkness and it clarifies thoughts and gives courage to move from stagnant circumstances.

  • Mint

All the mints can be used for clarification and purification. These herbs can bring a refreshing scent into the house and make the home brighter in energy.

  • Lavender

Lavender is often used to bring calmness into a home. You can use lavender after emotional turmoil or if you are very stressed. It is also a purifying plant.

  • Rosemary

Rosemary is a potent purifier and, at the same time, a very protective plant.

  • Sage

You can use any kind of sage, so it is perfectly fine to use your garden sage. If you burn it, the herb will cleanse and protect at the same time. Sage is also a good choice when you are dealing with grief, as it can bring some relief.

  • Thyme

You can burn Thyme to purify your space, but also when you need to energize yourself and are in need of courage. It clears away negative emotions.

Essential Oils

If you don’t want to smoke up your home, you can also use essential oils. The best way to do this is to use a diffuser or to mix it with water and use it in a spray bottle.

All the herbs I listed above can also be found as essential oils. I will just add a few more that I personally like to use.

  • Sandalwood Oil

This oil is used not only for cleansing, but especially to ground yourself, which is essential for your well-being.

  • Rose Oil

In combination with lavender oil, it has a calming effect and can re-balance emotional upheaval.

  • Lemon Oil

Purifies the air and can uplift your mood.

This is by no means an extensive list, but it gives you just a few ideas what you can use to clear your home.

Crystals

Personally, I don’t necessarily use crystals to clear the home. Truth be told, crystals can be problematic because of the way they are harvested and they don’t always bring in good energy. So after you purchased a crystal, make sure you cleanse it properly. Either by letting it bathe in moonlight, let water run over it (careful, not all crystal can tolerate water) or by burying it in the earth. After your crystal is cleared, you might consider apologizing to it. Yes, I’m serious. It wasn’t handled fairly. An apology seems sensible. But let’s have a look at a few cleansing or protective crystals.

  • Clear Quartz

The all-rounder of all the crystals, clear quartz dispels negative energy and, at the same time, attracts positive energy. It is known for absorbing, balancing, and regulating negative forces and energies.

  • Black Tourmaline

It is a very strong and powerful protection stone. It is grounding and highly protective. It helps clear and repel negative energy from the body, home and work environment and assists the user in feeling more grounded and peaceful. It can also protect against EMF, so you can keep it close to your TV, phone, laptops, etc.

  • Obsidian

Obsidian is a strong and absorbent stone that will highlight whatever truth you are needing to see in your life. It is a powerfully protective stone and should be cleansed, often due to how much energy it is able to absorb. It can bring avoided emotions or truths to the surface and force you to deal with things you may have suppressed. It absorbs negative or dark energy easily and will keep you and your home protected. A good spot for this crystal in your house is near the entry door.

  • Amethyst

Amethyst can be used in many situations. It can help to heal grief and to protect from negative energies. Amethyst is especially good to use when you have been around lots of people. If you have been to places with big crowds and are left feeling a bit drained and overwhelmed, then using a protection stone like Amethyst can really help you.

Sound

Sound is another option you can try to clear your space with. You can use singing bowls, drums, steel drums, a rattle, a rainmaker, or bells in any form and shape to get stuck energy moving again. If you go around your house, use your instrument of choice and reach out, especially in the dark corners or in cluttered areas.

Prayer

For some people, prayer has a negative incantation due to the religious connection. But prayer is nothing more than intention.

I’ll give you a quick example:

I am now choosing to cleanse my body, mind, and soul. I release any and all thought forms, any beings, situations and energies that are detrimental to me and are not for my highest good. I am now clear of everything that is harmful, across all planes of my existence, all dimensions, and all lifetimes. I ask that all energies are now transformed for the highest good of all. And so it is. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Blessings

Blessings are similar to prayers and seem almost interchangeable.

I like to use a Brigid House Blessing after a House Healing, but if you are not working with a specific deity, you can also use a more generic one.

Sigils

Sigils are symbols that you create yourself with a clear intention behind it. One way to create a sigil is that you write down a phrase or a word, then remove all vowels and repeating letters.

For example:

My house is now protected.

MY HS NW PRTCD

With the remaining letters, you can create a sigil like this

Protection Jars

All you need is an empty jar, corresponding herbs, crystals, salt, maybe even a piece of paper with your sigil on it, and your intention.

Add the herbs that you find the most fitting to your purpose and think about what each of them means to you. Then add the other items like either crystals or salt, but know it doesn't have to end there. You can put anything in there that represents protection for you. Then write on a piece of paper "I am protected" and say it out loud before you add it to the jar. Visualize yourself and your home being safe from all harm. Now you can seal your jar with candle wax and you can place it somewhere where you can see it often to remind you of your intention.

Why would I need a House Healer then?

You might wonder, if you can clear your home yourself, why you would need a House Healer?

Please understand, as human beings, we definitely have some blind spots, and it is always good to let someone else check in on us, in case we are missing something.

Also, the practices discussed before are not always 100% effective, and for some issues, they might not be effective at all. Dark energy beings are not impressed by us smudging the house or putting up crystals in every corner of the house.

It is the same for geopathic stress; water lines, or Ley lines will not be cleared or diverted by smudging, or prayers.

Practice of finding them in the first place is needed, so if you are not familiar with dowsing, or are still at the very beginning of your practice, it is definitely easier to consult a House Healer.

Also, when it comes to our own energy field, it is possible that we miss some things. Even experienced healers consult others to keep checking in on each other.

So yes, to keep your space clear and the energies moving, please use all the tools you have, but don’t be too proud to contact another healer to support you on your healing journey.

I hope your world is kind

Much Love,

Blossom
